TOWARDS ATMAN :
Fossil image of a kind
through millions of orbital years to the glance of a moment,
would I be here
if you had not played your part then -
still swimming in the seas of my mind?
----------
Roy K Austin retired, resides in Dorset England.
He has rural pursuits and enjoys walking his Labrador.
He does write poetry and articles but he enjoys studying 20th century sage / philosophers and drawing on Vedanta and mystical insights, he enjoys writing poetry that points to the non - dual vision of life, that it might just strike a light in someone’s darkness. He also writes with gratitude
and love for these sages, who, in Ken Wilbur’s words, are the spiritual avante - garde who ‘rode a beam of light‘ at the head of the evolution of human consciousness.
He has 2 books published now out of print.
----------
ODE TO LIGHT
Gazed long enough at
winter's rolling hills,
time mother nature
cast her spell again,
let the earth tilt her
face towards the sun,
fill violet coombe
and green the hollow,
lift me on the wing
of darting swallow
lest yesterday, turns
into the morrow,
bring me down wind to
sight the deer's movement,
and let me dwell to
complete my visit,
to hide my scent in
the glades of spirit,
outwit the fox to
follow to her den
to see her red coat
glistening again,
a myriad song-
birds to sing amen;
cornucopia
to let all unwind
and all unity
of life to let find,
the summer light that
buttercups my mind.
